Leave alone the surprise that none expected of Espoir basketball Club’s Fabrice Rukundo who used the All Star Game, the big event that closed the Bank of Kigali Basketball National League to win a heart, there was a lot to watch at Kigali Arena yesterday.
First of all, watching talented professionals as they do what they do best convinced sport lovers, that basketball, provided good sponsorship like the BK’s Rwf 300 million, is next big thing in local sport.
Fitness of the players, precision and consistency is the thing you realize in the pitch, high level of professionalism, too, and this means, that Rwanda would soon produce many internationals as predicted by officials at the launch of Kigali Arena, a couple of months ago.
Nothing to say about the basketball spirit among the Rwandan community. Apparently, if you want to test the taste of a community in regard to entertainment, you need to juts avail infrastructure.
While launching the 10,000 sitting capacity Kigali Arena, President Paul Kagame said that he realized that the facility was already small, and indeed, it is.
For any single event that is hosted at Kigali Arena, the premise is always full to capacity and when it comes to basketball, it is even much exciting.
And for Bank of Kigali as sponsor, they understood that Basketball is not something to be taken lightly, thus injecting in Rwf 300 million, which is a good deal. 
Particularly, the event that concluded the season this year, will be memorable among the basketball fans, players, organizers and anyone who happened to be at Kigali Arena to watch the All Star Game on Friday.
Entertainment was probably the best of its kind in Rwanda’s basketball and of course, this does not go without cost.
