Rwanda started on April 7, commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi, an event that triggers the deepest emotions in Rwandan community as they remember over one million Tutsi who perished in one hundred days.

Cameramen – amateurs and professionals as well as the general public largely used either a camera or a smart phone to capture moments around them.

We are proposing you this selection, an editors’ pick.

Up and below: Kirehe district – laying the wreath on the water. Many Genocide victims were thrown in rivers, with killers saying “we are helping you to take a transit route to Nile where you came from.”

At river Nyabarongo, Muhanga side: Many bodies were thrown here. In 1992, Dr. Leon Mugesera who is serving a life sentence in Rwanda over Genocide crimes said ‘the tutsi were lucky that in 1959 I was still a child. I would have made you transit to Abyssinia through river Nyabarongo. This incendiary speech inspired killers and they did this.
