Gasore Hategeka (Nyabihu Cycling Club) will be aiming to win Saturday’s Race for Culture to cement his leading position on of the Rwanda Cycling Cup Standings
The battle for 2018 Rwanda Cycling Cup Honours heads into the first-last race on the 12-race Rwanda Cycling Cup calendar with the Race for Culture set for Saturday from Nyanza to Rwamagana.
The Race for Culture will start in Nyanza and wind-up in Rwamagana with men elite riders covering 157km while women and junior category riders will cover 114km from Muhanga to Rwamagana.
The one-day race will attract riders from UCI continental team Benediction Club from Rubavu and local clubs namely, Rwamagana’s Club Les Amis Sportif, Fly Cycling Club, Huye Cycling Club for All, Muhazi Cycling Generation, Kigali Cycling Club, Nyabihu Cycling Club and Karongi Sports Vision Center.
Currently, three riders are vying for this year’s Rwanda Cycling Cup include; Gasore Hategeka who leads the current standings with 119 points, followed by Rwanda Cycling Cup holder Byukusenge Patrick (Benediction Club) with 106 points while, Munyaneza Didier from Benediction Club is ranked third with 100 points.
The annual domestic cycling championship, which is in its fourth edition, is organized by Rwanda Cycling Federation in partnership with Skol brewery and Cogebank.
