The World football body, FIFA has published the agenda for their 8th Council meeting which will be held at Kigali Convention Centre in Kigali City on October 26, 2018.
The FIFA Council Meeting which will attract over 100 delegates from different confederations across the globe will focus on issues pertaining to the development of football.
The FIFA Council Meeting will discuss among others the Preparation money, Club Benefits Programme and prize money for the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019.
The meeting will among other key issues related to ratification of the decision of the Bureau of the Council of 8 August 2018 to change the structure of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Legacy Programme to be based on a specific contract of agreed objectives between FIFA and the Brazilian Football Association, decisions of the Bureau of the Council of 11 and 27 August 2018 regarding the situation of the Ghana Football Association, decision of the Bureau of the Council of 13 August 2018 regarding the situation of the Nigeria Football Federation, decision of the Bureau of the Council of 31 August 2018 regarding the situation of the Cameroonian Football Association and decision of the Bureau of the Council of 5 October 2018 regarding the situation of the Sierra Leone Football Association.
The meeting will also amend the FIFA Forward Development Programme Regulations – Forward 2.0, appoint host of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2019, host for the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2020 and approve regulations for the Olympic Football Tournaments Tokyo 2020.
Top brass global football leaders led by FIFA boss Gianni Infantino and General Secretary Fatma Samba Diouf Samoura are expected to arrive in Kigali on Wednesday evening.
The Presidents, Vice Presidents, selected Executive Committee Members and General Secretaries of Confederations from CONMEBOL, AFC, UEFA, CAF, CONCACAF and OFC, and various FIFA Commission members are also expected in Kigali ahead of the FIFA Council Meeting due on Friday.
Rwanda was chosen hosts of the 8th FIFA Council Meeting during FIFA’s first meeting of the year held in June in Bogotá, Colombia.
The FIFA Council (formerly the FIFA Executive Committee) is an institution of FIFA (the governing body of association football, futsal and beach soccer).
It is the main decision-making body of the organization in the intervals of FIFA Congress. Its members are elected by the FIFA Congress. The council is a non-executive, supervisory and strategic body that sets the vision for FIFA and global football.
