The National basketball league resumes over the weekend with eye-catching matches set to thrill basketball crowds with effective on Friday night when two former champions Patriots and APR battle it out at Amahoro Indoor stadium.
On a busy basketball weekend, former champions Patriots and APR face-off at 6pm. Patriots won the 2016 league title and last year’s play-offs title while APR were 2010 champions.
Patriots managed by Henry Mwinuka go into Friday’s tricky tie lying in second spot with 7 points from four matches while APR who are coached by former skipper Aime Karim Nkusi stand sixth with five points from three matches.
In their previous league match, Patriots edged reigning champions REG 75- 60 and they have been boosted with new signings Congolese Kasongo Junior and Kenyan Michael Mikiadi. REG leads the standings with nine points in five matches.
Action will continue on Saturday when Espoir host Rusizi at 11am; IPRC take on UGB at 13h00 before UGB and Rusizi wind up the day’s action with a late night game due at 9pm.
On Sunday, APR will be up against IPRC at 11am at Amahoro Indoor stadium.
Entrance fees to watch any of the matches is Rwf. 1000 in the main tribune and Rwf. 3000 in the VIP section respectively.
