It could probably be the largest and most stunning painting in Kigali city – Passersby just can’t help but pause for a few minutes to take a look at the striking painting.
This unidentified artist held up on a crane is brushing the creamy wall and gradually bringing out an animal which has kept most Rwandans guessing. The four-storey building hosts the once famous Okapi Hotel.
One of the onlookers mativo Jones at the site observed, “Nice one..was expecting a yuuuge bigly silverback though..that looks like some kind of rodent from Joshua hill..”
In the early 2000s, there was a transport company known as Okapi Car plying between Kigali and Goma in DRCongo and also between Kigali and Nyagatare district in eastern Rwanda. This company is no more.
Okapi is a forest giraffe or zebra giraffe, It is an artiodactyl mammal native to the northeast of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Despite its Deer-like appearance the Okapi is actually one of the few remaining ancestors of the Giraffe, which is the tallest animal on Earth.
