Later today at 5:00PM, the Finance Minister, Claver Gatete, will announce whether Rwandans are growing richer or poorer.
The Ministry’s Communication Officer, Sam Jean RUBURIKA announced that the minister will elaborate on Rwanda’s GDP figures for 2014.
He declined giving more details.
However, data obtained by KTPress from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) indicate that Rwanda’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 8.4%; from US$7.431billion in 2013 to US$8.058billion in 2014. (Data last updated: 02/2014).
While officially opening the 12th National Dialogue Council (Umushyikirano), President Paul Kagame said, referring to the 3rdquarter, that agriculture had contributed 34% to the GDP after services with 47%.
Coffee alone had earned the country US$60M in export revenues.
