Rayon Sports Football Club is in a dilemma after its winless streak continued on Saturday, with a draw against Gorilla FC on Saturday -the first game with caretaker coach Marcel Romami in charge.’Gikundiro’, as it is commonly known, drew 1-1 with Gorilla FC at Kigali Stadium on game day 8 of the Rwanda Premier League championship.
The draw compounded further the troubles of Rayon Sport which played its first game after suspending coach Masudi Irambona Djuma over what was described as poor run of form.The game between Rayon Sports and Gorilla FC kicked off at 3:00pm after a delay resulting from the two teams having nearly similar kits.
The visiting team Gorilla FC had to improvise and find a kit with a different colour. Gorilla FC was also playing its first game under the new boss Sogonya Hamiss (Kishii) who was appointed as the club coach two days before the game against troubled Rayon Sports.
Prince Rudasingwa, Rayon Sports youthful striker, drew first blood on the 28th minute, putting the former champions ahead before Mohammed Camara equalised for the visiting team on the 75th minute, after Duru Mercy Ikena dispossessed Jean Claude Iranzi in the build up of the equaliser. Rayon Sports will go back to the drawing board after failing to win in three consecutive games.
