Tricia Ange Niyonshuti posted a photo of herself being walked down the aisle by her deceased father.
Singer and professional physician Tom Close has spoken out about the loss of his father-in-law and father to his wife Ange Tricia Niyonshuti, describing his death as devastating to the family.
Niyonshuti announced the passing of her father Alexis Mubiligi on her Instagram account on Monday 12, pointing out that losing her father was her biggest fear since childhood.
“What I feared to since my childhood has finally happened. God should welcome you with mercy, my lovely dad,” Niyonshuti wrote on her Instagram account.
In an interview with KT Press, Dr. Thomas Muyombo, commonly known by his stage name Tom Close, said that his father-in-law succumbed to cancer.
“The loss is devastating to the family since he was the only remaining parent for both of us. He succumbed to cancer. He was operated early January but the recovery didn’t go well,”
“We are grateful to the whole medical team at King Faisal Hospital-Kigali, especially the surgeons and the team in the ICU,” Tom Close told KT Press.
Tom Close and Niyonshuti Ange Tricia got married in 2013. The deceased had three grandchildren from the celebrity couple named Ineza Ella, the first born, Imena Elan, the second born, and thirdborn Ellana.
Several showbiz personalities took to social media to condole Tricia and Tom Close over their loss. Tricia often posted on social media gushing over her father with whom they shared a strong bond.
Niyonshuti often posted about her beloved father.
“Be strong, as you have always been. May your dad rest in peace. He will always be proud of you,” posted radio personality Tidjara Kabendera.
“Your Dad did a great job raising you. You were his pride and you gave him grandchildren. May you always feel his pride and love,” posted Alex Muyoboke, adding that “we are holding your family in our hearts and lifting you in prayer R.I.P Papa Tricia”.
