FIFA President Gianni Infantino has joined Rwandans in commemorating the Genocide against the Tutsi which claimed over a million lives in 1994.
In a letter sent to the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA), Infantino expressed solidarity with Rwandans for the 27th commemoration.
“Today, many people around the world observe the International Day of Reflection and hold ceremonies in memory of the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.” he said
He continued “On behalf of FIFA and all your friends of the international football community, we would like to join them and to express our deepest sympathy on this 27th Commemoration of the Genocide.
“It is a time to remember the over one million victims, ensuring that this tragedy is never forgotten and will never happen again, and to work together towards building a prosperous future.
