RAYON Sports reclaimed control of the Azam Rwanda Premier League again as they defeated Amagaju FC 2-1 on Saturday in Match Day 27 encounter which was staged at Stade Nyagisenyi in Nyamagabe District.
The Blues who were without Ghanaian striker Michael Sarpong and Rutanga Eric due to accumulated three yellow cards secured maximum points courtesy of a 14th minute strike from Brazilian Raphael Da Silva and 86th goal from Mudeyi Suleiman.
With the result, the Brazilian tactician Roberto Oliveira led side overtook arch rivals APR FC to top spot with 63 points, one point ahead of the military side who on Thursday thumped Gicumbi 3-1.
The loss for Amagaju FC have seen them drop into next year’s second division league as they only have 17 points in three matches remaining to the end of the season.
In other matches played on match day 27, SC Kiyovu defeated Espoir FC 3-0; Sunrise FC lost to Musanze FC 1-2, Police FC defeated Bugesera FC 3-1 on Saturday.
On Friday, AS Kigali registered a 2-1 win over AS Muhanga while Kirehe FC also defeated Mukura VS 2-1 in Kirehe.
One more match which was shifted from Friday to Tuesday next week is the Rubavu derby which will pit Marines Fc against Etincelles Fc due at Stade Umuganda.
