Rwanda senior women team forward Kanyamihigo Callixte helped Rwanda to force a draw against visitors DR Congo women’s national Olympic team in an international friendly match played on Tuesday at Stade Umuganda in Rubavu District.
Kanyamihigo came off the bench, replacing Nyiramfashimana Marie Jeanne to snatch the equalizing goal in the 73rd, canceling out a 26th minute goal from DR Congo which was scored by Mawete Musolo Flavine.
Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) organized the friendly match as a way of keeping the women national team to be in a competitive aspect ahead of future competitions.
On the other hand, DR Congo was using the tie to prepare for the upcoming Caf Women’s Olympic qualifier preliminary round qualifier against Tanzania whose first leg is planned for April 2 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
