Alexia Mupende – RIP
Showbiz fraternity came to a halt Wednesday morning (1/9/19) when news broke that their very own actress and top model Alexia Mupende passed away at her home in Kanombe.

The sad news started making rounds on social media at around on Tuesday 9pm but it wasn’t believed by many until Wednesday morning when it was clear that she was indeed murdered.
Local celebrities took to social media and started condemning the act as a horrible incident that has hit the industry at the very begining of 2019.

“If I say Rwandese we are bad people or say we have cruel hearts, don’t think I would have made a mistake??? Anyway Rest in peace #Alexiamupende” RBA showbiz host Lucky Nzeyimana said.
“I thought kids born in this era don’t have cruel hearts because they are raised in a good country but nope, I don’t think even wild animals can be like us,” social media influencer Kamikazi Rutagengwa said.
“My heart doesn’t want to accept that you gone my fellow teammate #RIPAlexiamupende” says radio host, emcee and actress Anita Pendo.
It is alleged that the prominent model was murdered by her 23 years old house helper by the names of Antoine Niyireba, who fled the scene after committing the unthinkable act.
Currently, the suspect’s national identity card is doing rounds on social media platforms calling anyone who comes in contact with him to immediately alert the authorities.
Modeste Mbabazi, the spokesperson of Rwanda Investigation Bureau, confirmed the sad news but could not share further details only saying they were following up on the case.

Alexia Mupende gained fame in 2012 when she won Rwanda Premier Model award and since then she has been showcasing fashions in big fashion shows like Dubai Runaway season 11 rubbing shoulders with fashion icons like Modupe Omonze, Shaleen Cheah and Khalid Al Ayoub.
She had a such brilliant mind with good business skills because on top of her busy schedule on runways and acting, she also at a health club called Waka fitness which keeps stars in shape like Charly na Nina, models, movie stars and Dj Pius among others.
The deceased was also planning a wedding which was slated to take place on 22nd February this year. On the other hand, she has left a big gap in both film and fashion industry. May her soul rest in eternity
