The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) has imposed disciplinary sanctions to Rayon Sports Fc striker Bimenyimana Caleb, Kit Manager Dushimimana Claude and Sunrise Fc following poor misconduct exhibited during the match day three of the Azam Rwanda Premier League staged on November 1 at Nyagatare Grounds.
During the Sunrise FC’s home game against Rayon Sports, the Blues earned a 2-1 victory and even had their striker Bonfils Caleb Bimenyimana sent off three minutes to time.
The Burundian striker, who scored the opening goal in the 18th minute, was shown a red card for unleashing a harsh karate kick against a pitch invader at Nyagatare grounds.
During the scuffle, the Kit Manager of Rayon Sports Fc was also filmed beating the same pitch invader.
In its meeting held on November 30, the Ferwafa Disciplinary committee chaired by its president Mabano Jules took sanctions to concerned parties.
Both Bimenyimana, Rayon Sports Fc forward and Dushimimana Claude, the Kit Manager of Rayon Sports FC were found guilty of intentionally inflicting bodily injuries (Lesions Corporelles) to a Sunrise Fc supporter who invaded the field of play during the above mentioned match day on November 1, 2018.
The FERWAFA Disciplinary Committee has decided to impose a four-match ban to Bimenyimana on top of Rwf. 30,000 with immediate effect.
The Burundian-born striker will miss Rayon Sport’s home tie against AS Kigali due on December 9 at Stade de Kigali; the away derby tie between APR Fc and Rayon Sports due on December 12 at Stade de Kigali; Rayon Sport’s home tie against AS Muhanga due on December 15 at Stade de Kigali and Rayon Sport’s away tie to Espoir on December 18 which will be played in Rusizi.
The Kit Manager Dushimimana has been handed a one-year suspension from all football activities and a fine of Rwf. 50,000.
Sunrise FC who failed to respect safety and security at the home venue will play their next Azam Rwanda Premier League behind closed door (without the provision of fans) at their Nyagatare grounds.
