Rwanda Revenue Authority Women and Gisagara men’s volleyball clubs emerged victors of the 2018 Heroes Volleyball Tournament which climaxed on Wednesday night at Amahoro indoor stadium in Remera, Kigali City.
RRA women volleyball club edged arch-rivals APR women volleyball club 3-0 winning all sets 25-15, 25-21 and 25-15.
The volleyball Heroes tournament attracted five clubs in the women category namely RRA VC, APR VC, Ruhango VC, KVC and IPRC Kigali VC. After a round-robin playing action, RRA emerged the overall winner following their excellent performances in which they beat IPRC Kigali VC 3-1, APR 3-2, Ruhango VC 3-0 and KVC 3-0.
APR women volleyball club finished overall second as they defeated Ruhango VC 3-0, KVC 3-0 before losing to IPRC Kigali VC 0-3.
In the men’s category, Gisagara men’s volleyball club defeated REG volleyball club 3-0 in the final game on Wednesday night as they meet strong resistance from their opponents but held on to win three sets 25-21, 26-24 and 25-15.
REG and UTB volleyball clubs finished second and third overall in the 2018 edition of the Heroes Volleyball Tournament which was held in coincidence with the annual Heroes Day, which is celebrated across the country on February 1 every year.
