The battle for the 2018 Heroes Cup gets underway on January 23 attracting the top four clubs from last season’s Azam Rwanda Premier League.
Reigning league champions Rayon Sports, Police FC, who finished second, third-placed APR FC and AS Kigali are set to battle it out for the crown.
The tournament will be played on a robin round basis with the overall winner set to be determined on maximum points garnered.
The opening matches due on January 23 with the final match scheduled on Heroes Day, February 1, 2018.
According to the tentative fixtures released by Rwanda Football Federation, the opening matches will pit Rayon Sports Fc against Police Fc before APR Fc takes on AS Kigali.
The second day of the tournament will be played four days later with APR Fc battling Police Fc while AS Kigali will be up against Rayon Sports.
The final day of the tournament is on Heroes day as Police Fc face AS Kigali before rivals Rayon Sports take on APR Fc in a derby match.
The winner of this year’s Heroes Cup tournament will get Rwf3m on top of the trophy and gold medals, second place side will earn Rwf2m; the bronze medalist will walk away with Rwf1.5, while the fourth-placed team will take home Rwf1m. Each participating team is set to receive Rwf. 1m to ensure better and ample preparations.
