Libya Football Federation has called off deals of giving their national team to former Egypt national team captain and youth team coach Hany Ramzy and decided to renew their confidence in Omar Al Mariami who led the team at the Cecafa Challenge Cup tournament held in Kenya this month.
According to Libya football media, Ramzy has been without a job since being sacked by Ittihad in October, and was supposed to take over from Libyan head coach, Omar Al Mariami who led the team in their final World Cup qualifier against Tunisia where they had nothing to play for as well as the Cecafa Challenge Cup were they couldn’t go past the group stage.
However, due to the short length of the contract over, which is only six months, the Libyan FA has decided to renew their confidence in Omar Al Mariami who will lead the Mediterranean Knights in CHAN 2018.
Rwanda is placed in Group C of the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) alongside 2014 winners Libya, Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.
Rwanda will open her Group C encounter against Nigeria on January 15, face Equatorial Guinea on January 19 before concluding her group stage encounter against Libya on January 23, 2018.
The top two teams in Group C will proceed to the last eight.
The competition which is designed for players plying their trade in their country’s domestic league will end on February 4,2018.
