Rwanda national ballet “Urukerereza” entertained approximately 100,000 people attending Uhuru Kenyatta inauguration ceremony on October 28 at Kasarani Stadium.
Troupe from several tribes of Kenya performed the best from their respective cultures, but Rwanda was the only foreign country to perform at the colourful inauguration.
The troupe established in 1974 entertained through Kinyarwanda songs and drums to jubilant gathering at the swearing-in ceremony of the President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy, William Samuel Ruto.
After a brilliant performance of Masai band and famous gospel singer, Kibali Florence backed by her chorus, drummers from “Urukerereza” troupe took the floor to entertain 18 heads of state including President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame and other dignitaries.
A good blend of dancers and choreographers in black and white saris, Rwandan traditional garments from start to end kept the crowd in electrifying atmosphere.
Urukerereza performance wrapped up the entertainment section before President Uhuru Kenyatta took over to make his first address after swearing in.
The national ballet perform at major national events in the country and globally especially in festivals and other party gatherings.
