I Nyanza twataramye. Musanze residents will enjoy enjoy a traditional event this week-end

When was the last time you drunk Rwandan local brew as you listened to traditional music?

This weekend is a full pack in Musanze district as most popular music band from Nyundo Music School joins local vocalists for the  Kaci Kaci Festival

This festival will be one of a kind with Rwandan culture at the center of everything taking place at the mountain ranges of Musanze district.

The cultural menu will range from tasting local brew Urwagwa and Ikigage – made from bananas and sorghum; traditional dance troops accompanied by the famous Nyundo Art and Music school crew.

The first edition of the Kaci Kaci art festival which will start this Saturday at the Inshuti arts and culture center aims to showcase the traditional Rwandan art and mix different artists from various areas of Rwanda.

“We chose to take it to Musanze district to show their culture to other people from outside and also to give to Musanze residents a platform to show their art,” said Ella Liliane Mutuyimana of Kaci Kaci Promoters.

On the list of artists will include Afroboy Mani Martin, vocalists Patrick Nyamitali, Jules Sentore, Andy Bumuntu, Eric 1Key, Peace Jolis, Moyize and MC Eric Soul.

KINA Festival

Ishyo Arts in partnership with Goethe Institute Kigali has brought you international performers to entertain your children.

The show which started November 8th and is set to close on November 12th will catch up with parents who want to have fun with children this weekend.

The show will feature performers from Germany, Switzerland, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Senegal and hosts Rwanda.

A bonus film festival from Goete Institute was also organized for November 14 with screening of an environmental movie ‘Tomorrow’ – as a way of promoting the sense of green in Kigali city, which has been referred to as the green city of Africa.

Tour du Rwanda 2017

On Sunday November 12th, Rwandans will once again celebrate achievements in the cycling sport which has taken the country to another international level.

Streets of Kigali will once again be filled with onlookers as 79 cyclists from six national teams and eleven professional clubs race through the prologue stage.

Two-time Tour du Rwanda winner and reigning champion Valens Ndayisenga of Austria-based Tirol Cycling Team is one of the three other Rwandan riders who will be at the start on November 12. Others are Joseph Areruya and Samuel Mugisha who will be riding for Team Dimension Data Continental.
