UCI sets Africa Continental Road Championships for February

Riders Areruya Joseph, Valens Ndayisenga and Mugisha Samuel are expected to lead Rwanda’s quest for honours in next month’s championship.

The African Continental Road Championships will be staged from February 13-18th, 2018 in Rwanda according to the UCI cycling calendar.

Rwanda awarded the rights to host the 2018 African Continental Road Championships last year.

This is the second time that Rwanda will be hosting the continental championships, having been already held here in 2010.

According to the detailed program from UCI, the six-day continental championship will be held in Kigali City with the opening ceremony of the championship set to be held on February 13, 2018 at Golden Tulip Hotel in Nyamata.

In last year’s edition held in Luxor, Egypt, Rwanda which was represented by Valens Ndayisenga, Bosco Ndengimana, Joseph Areruya and Samuel Mugisha finished overall third winning a team bronze medal.
