Patrick was my house prefect in the West House at Ntare. He helped me settle in the school and remained a great friend. His humility despite greatness always shone through. Condolences to Jolly and the children.

Patrick and I started Ntare School on the same day, 23rd January, 1964, and our friendship was instant. Because I “skipped” S.4, we were together for 5 memorable years of our youth (Jan 1964 to Dec 1968).
We didn’t get in touch again until the height of genocide when Hon Louise Mushikiwabo (now Rwanda’s Foreign Minister) connected us. Patrick was then in Canada coordinating RPF activities and I was living and working in Ohio, USA. We then resumed (our friendship) where we had left off, and even tried to make up for lost time. Fare thee well my good friend.
