Nirere Xaverine of Les Amis Sportif Rwamagana has maintained her cycling stardom after winning the 2017 Rwanda cycling cup.

The competition kicked off this morning from Musanze to Rwamagana covering a 150km race from the north to the eastern region of the country.

Nirere is the sister of Rwanda’s ace cycler Valens Ndayisenga that won Tour of Rwanda (2016), several national cross country tours and the Race for Culture in Nyanza District last August.

At the cultural event both skippers turned the race into a family affair – holding the top positions for both men and women categories.

Patrick Byukusenge of benediction cycling club scooped the top position with Rwf100, 000 award.

Benediction club dominated the competition and walked away with most of the top best awards except that grabbed by Nirere of Les Amis Sportif Rwamagana.

Munyaneza Didier of benediction club also walked away with the top award in the under 23 category with a cash prize of Rwf60, 000.

Yves Nkurunziza (Benediction) won the Junior Men category with a Rwf50, 000 award.
