Rwanda Police appoints new spokesperson

Rwanda National Police has appointed Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Celestin Twahirwa as the new Spokesperson and serves as Commissioner for Public Relations and Media, with emmediate effect.

CSP Twahirwa, a lawyer, has just returned from a peacekeeping mission in Darfur, Sudan, where he served as Sector Commander.

Prior to that, CSP Twahirwa served in various capacities in the force; as Commissioner for Traffic and once as Deputy Commandant for National Police College (NPC).

He replaces Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Damas Gatare, who was transferee to the Department of Community Policing.
